The conditions of women from Ottawa and Earlville are not clear after a Woodford County fatal early Saturday. The Peoria Journal Star says the ambulance they were in struck the drivers side of a silver Chevrolet, northwest of Elpaso around 2am. Inside the ambulance was a 78-year old patient from Ottawa and riding along was a 25-year old Earlville woman. The Journal Star had no word on either's condition. Driving the ambulance was a 42-year old La Salle man, also unidentified, who got treated for injuries at a hospital.
The story says the car drove into the path of the ambulance, about a mile east of Benson. Killed in that Chevrolet were a 20-year old Gridley woman, a 19-year old Minonk man and a third individual, as yet unidentified. A fourth occupant, a 21-year old Minonk male was also treated in a hospital for his injuries. The identities of the deceased are being withheld until family is notified.
