Is finding diapers on a park trail the lowest people can go? Guess again. A picture taken Sunday, October 27th apparently shows persons resting in hammocks in some trees off a Starved Rock trail. A park volunteer saw apparently five adults relaxing near Eagle Cliff. That's about three-quarters of a mile east of the Visitors Center. The volunteer said they appeared to be in their 30's.
Assistant Site Superintendent Linda Moore said the incident makes her frustrated. District Conservation officer Phil Wire said such an incident could have had each of the five charged with being off the trail and possibly destruction of flora. Each person would have paid $195 per ticket.
