Mother Nature delivered a one-two punch across northern Illinois on Thursday.
The first round of severe storms rolled through the Illinois Valley over the noon hour. At one point a tornado warning was issued for northeastern La Salle County. A report from the La Salle County Emergency Agency says a tornado did occur near Sheridan on North 42nd Road just after noon. So far there are no reports of damage from that storm. Not long after that the weather service reported quarter-size hail in Marseilles.
Severe weather then cranked back up between 10 o’clock and midnight last night with a thunderstorm warning at one point for parts of Bureau County. Ping pong ball size hail was reported with the late night storms near Naperville and Wheaton.
