A large team of Starved Rock Country first responders led by the La Salle County Sheriff's Office last night (Wednesday night) located a missing suicidal woman from Sandwich.
Just before 9:00, the DeKalb County Sheriff's office and Sandwich police reached out to Sheriff Tom Templeton's office about a 57-year-old woman who was believed to be in the area of Buffalo Rock State Park. Deputies located the woman's car and noted blood and an empty knife sheath in the front seat.
At that point, EMS, police, canines and a drone were put to work to find the woman, and found her just before midnight. She was taken to OSF St. Elizabeth in Ottawa for treatment. Sheriff Templeton praised the teamwork of emergency services in finding the missing woman.
