More recoveries than new cases reported Wednesday in LaSalle County. However, the number of deaths statewide is in double digits.
On Wednesday, The Illinois Department of Public Health counted 980 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours and that included 36 additional deaths. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rating ending July 7 is 2.6%. As of the evening of July 7, over 1,500 Illinois residents were in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 331 were in the ICU. Of those patients, 151 were on ventilators.
On July 8, La Salle County's total confirmed case load reached 237. The Health Department said there were three new COVID-19 cases including females in their 30's, 50's and a male in his 60's. Some good news, though, as five known cases have recovered, moving that total to 175.
Totals remain the same in Bureau, Putnam and Marshall Counties. The Health Department has counted 31 in Bureau, twelve in Marshall and one in Putnam.
