Illinois's new COVID cases Sunday were almost half of Friday's totals. The Department of Public Health said Sunday that confirmed and probable cases were 4711 with 81 additional deaths.

On Friday, the number was 9277. Saturday's was 6717. Unfortunately, the “Land of Lincoln” has recorded more than a million cases since the start of the pandemic. 

Specimens tested in the past 24 hours were a bit under 77,800. That compares with almost 103,000 in Saturday's report. Friday's rolling positivity rate was, on Sunday, it's 7.9%. 

The number of COVID patients on ventilators is now 391.

Bureau County had 25 new cases Sunday. Putnam County has 2 and Marshall County has 6.
