The Illinois Department of Health Wednesday announced 330 new cases of the coronavirus since Tuesday’s report. The number of positive tests in the state has now reached 1,865. And three more deaths have also occurred -- a Kane County man in his 90s, a Cook County man in his 60s and a Will County woman in her 50s. Nineteen people in Illinois now have died. Thirty-five of the state’s 102 counties now are reporting victims. Bureau and Putnam counties so far have not reported any cases.
Two correctional officers and one prisoner at Stateville Correctional Center have tested positive since yesterday. So has a contract worker at Sheridan Correctional Center. The two Stateville guards are recovering at home and the prisoner is isolated and recovering in the hospital. Others at Stateville who may have been exposed are under quarantine now. Both prisons are on a 14-day lockdown.
