According to signals sent by Governor J.B. Pritzker, Starved Rock Country should be emerging from Tier-3 COVID-19 mitigations to the less-restrictive Tier 2.
The Illinois Department of Public Health says that to relax restrictions, a region must meet several metrics in such areas as positivity rates and hospital capacity. And, our region appears to be making the grade. The difference between the tiers essentially is more freedom to take part in recreational activities and go to gaming facilities. Restaurants and bars would still be restricted – No indoor dining or bar service allowed. Click here to see all Tier-2 mitigations.
For reference, we're part of Region 2, which runs roughly from La Salle County south through McLean County, and from Grundy County west to the Mississippi River.
