A year ago, on January 12, 2019, Trooper Christopher Lambert was struck by a vehicle while helping at a traffic crash on I-294. In memory of Lambert, the State Police will have an increased presence on Illinois roads through this Saturday.
ISP Director Brendan Kelly says it will raise awareness of the “Move Over, or Scott's Law”. This law states you must either move over or slow down when there are emergency vehicles on the shoulder of the road. Kelly add that Troopers like Chris put themselves on the line every day – not knowing if they will return home.
