Today’s COVID-19 numbers are in, and Starved Rock Country has lost another person to the illness – this one a Bureau County man in his 60s. He’s the second Bureau Countian to fall to the virus.

There have now been thirty-eight total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bureau, Putnam and Marshall counties. Bureau County has had twenty-nine confirmed cases. Marshall County has had eight confirmed cases. Putnam County has had one confirmed case. 

And, once again, La Salle County is home to five more cases of the illness in 24 hours. They are a teenage male, a woman in her 20s, a woman in her 50s, a man in his 60s and a man in his 70s. La Salle County now has had 215 positive cases of the coronavirus since the outbreak started. Of those, 151 have recovered. No one has recovered since yesterday.

Statewide today, the department of public health announced 724 new confirmed cases, including 23 additional confirmed deaths, including the Bureau County man's passing.

Illinois has had more than 143 thousand cases, including more than 69 hundred deaths.
