Peru’s Hometown Christmas is this weekend, and Santa plays a big part in it.
The jolly old elf himself will arrive from the North Pole in a helicopter. And then he’ll take time during his busiest part of the year to celebrate the season in Peru.
First, you’ll find him on Saturday riding in a fire truck in the Pearl Harbor Day parade and posing for professional pictures at City Hall. Then you’ll see him help light the trees at the Maud Powell statue and at City Hall.
On Sunday, you can join him at the Peru Fire Department’s pancake-and-sausage breakfast. He’ll need the energy, because then he needs to get back to work. From the Fire Department, he’s off to Washington Park and his helicopter ride back to the North Pole. But, of course, not to worry. He’ll be back just a couple of weeks later.
