The property owner along Route 26, in rural Princeton was burning debris late Saturday afternoon. Princeton Fire's Lt. Scott Etheridge thinks sparks landed on a nearby abandoned dilapidated house and got it burning just before 5pm.

   It was fully engulfed when Princeton firemen arrived at the site, 5 miles southeast of the city. With help from Depue, Tiskilwa, Malden and Bureau, the flames were under control in 25 minutes. Firemen cleared the scene after 7pm and the owner promised to watch the structure for a rekindle. .
