Talk about nostalgia: a state representative from Chicago wants to bring back the days when gas stations had employees who pumped your gas for you.
State Representative Camille Lilly, a Democrat from Chicago, recently introduced a bill that says no gas could be pumped at a gas station in Illinois unless it is pumped by an attendant employed by the gas station. In other words, the bill would effectively ban self-service gas stations.
Multiple groups on Facebook and other social media posted information about this bill with hundreds of users criticizing the proposal.
Lilly is the only sponsor of House Bill 4571, which was filed last week and remains in the Rules Committee at this time.
