A Peru man facing charges of theft, DUI and driving on a revoked license is headed to prison after pleading guilty Thursday in an Ottawa courtroom.
In a plea deal with prosecutors, 46-year-old George Burson will serve two, five-year terms concurrently. Burson admitted to Judge H. Chris Ryan he’d robbed Flo’s on Pulaski in Peru on June 4 of last year, and that he’d driven under the influence and on a revoked license on June 17. Both are felonies. He’d already had three prior convictions.
Burson gave a quick smile and wave toward the gallery as a deputy led him away.
