Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei continues his message that drug dealers are not welcomed in his city. As recently as May, the Peru Police Special Investigations Unit started undercover operations and learned of numerous individuals delivering cocaine and methamphetamine in the city of Peru. Two arrests were made this week.
40-year old Larry Chandler of 1336 Crosat in LaSalle was arrested Monday for felony trafficking cocaine. He was taken to the county jail.
The most recent was 39-year old Kilman Johnson residing at two different Peru apartments. He was arrested Friday afternoon at Third and Peoria on two counts of trafficking cocaine. Chief Bernabei says further arrests are expected.
