Have you been hearing fireworks every night in your neighborhood? Officers in Peru have been issued a directive regarding zero tolerance and strict enforcement of illegal fireworks within city limits.
Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei says there appears to be a significant uptick in illegal fireworks causing a serious quality of life issue for people and their animals. With this in mind the chief says his department is taking a zero-tolerance approach.
Fireworks amateurs can face a state charge or city ticket for disorderly conduct. You can be fined anywhere from $50 to $500.
