So, you think YOU’RE a big fan of YOUR team.
Well, does the love go both ways?
For Lori Keenan, a lifelong Cubbies fan, it sure does. NBC Chicago has named the owner of Tony’s Barber Shop in Peru an “authentic fan,” and the Cubs will be hosting – and honoring -- Lori at Monday’s game.
Lori’s shop is covered in Cubs memorabilia. And when a business neighbor sent in some pictures of her ever-expanding collection, organizers knew they had the real deal in Lori.
The thing that put her over the top, she thinks, is one special item.
The network will air a segment of its interview with the super-fan Monday before the Cubs face the Reds. And the team will make her bigger than life with segments on the big screen in Wrigley during the game. Aside from those things, she’s not sure exactly what to expect, but the team has told her she’ll get some surprises on Monday.
All of this is quite an honor for Lori, who’s been committed to the north-siders since 1965. One reason for her Cub love is the players, including her all-time favorite, Ernie Banks.
Today she keeps a close eye on favorites Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant.
She says other players do, too, but those two stand out.
But, lest you think Lori Keenan is all about the players, check out her take on the rest of the season down the stretch.
Of course, you can hear the Cubs-Cardinals games right here on Classic Hits 103.9 WLPO.
