Dan Aussem

If you own a business in Ottawa that plans to start up outdoor seating on Friday, the city is around to help.

Ottawa Mayor Dan Aussem sent a letter to liquor license holders saying the city is willing to assist restaurants and bars in expanding their outdoor seating areas by offering public lots, parking spaces, or possible street closures.  If you are going to use public property to expand outdoor seating, Aussem recommends submitting a plan to the mayor’s office.

The mayor also reminds business owners that the state hasn’t yet released rules and regulations for the reopening of outdoor seating and bars and restaurants.
