A Law Office across from Ottawa High School was badly damaged by fire Sunday. Fire Chief Andy Borkowski said the office – at 412 East Main - was in a bricked in porch connected to a house. The porch received heavy damage, but the house received smoke and water damage.
The residents – an adult and two children – got out safely and no firemen were injured. Borkowski's crew were called at 1:30pm and had the fire knocked down in five minutes. An investigator will examine the structure to determine a cause, but it is not considered suspicious. The owner's name was not revealed.
