It’s a disturbing trend that shows no signs of stopping. Threats made at schools.
The latest incident involves Washington Junior High in Oglesby. Superintendent Michael Pillion sent out a message to parents Wednesday evening saying they were told after school hours from a parent of a possible threat to the school. Administrators reached out to the Oglesby Police Department to start an investigation. Oglesby Police Chief Jim Knoblauch says they’ve determined the school is safe and there is no immediate threat.
The chief says they will continue to work closely with folks at the school but don’t believe any increased police presence is needed at the junior high.
