Melvin Boyd, age 76, of Peru, died Thursday night at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 to 4 at Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle with a Scripture Service at 3:30.
Burial will be at a later date and cremation rites will follow the visitation.
Melvin was born on December 16, 1942 in LaSalle to Wilson and Carmen (Kerlin) Boyd. He was a member of the National Guard and American Legion in Oglesby. He married Deborah Martin on May 27, 1977 in McNabb. Melvin Boyd worked as a machinist for Complete Industrial Enterprises for 50 years.
He’s survived by his wife Deborah of Peru, daughter Christina of Peru, sons Jeffrey of Kansas and Daniel of Michigan, sister Joanne Duffield of Granville, brothers Harvey of Woodridge and Charles of Coal City, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
