Northview

Peru elementary schools once again are sending a bit of home to our nation’s servicemen and servicewomen who are deployed and serving overseas.

Through Veterans’ Day, each classroom at Northview will collect donations of snacks, DVDs and other items that will go toward a U.S. Army medical unit in the Persian Gulf.

The service members will benefit from these and other gifts from the kids, including letters, pictures and drawings.

It’s all part of the Hero Box program, and it’s completely voluntary. Northview appreciates any donations it receives by Monday, and organizers welcome volunteers to help pack the boxes next Wednesday at 3:30 at the school.
