There's good news if you're an IVCC student or the parent of an IVCC student—the basic cost to attend the local community college will be the same this year as it has been the last two years.
Meeting Wednesday night, the Illinois Valley Community College board of trustees voted to hold the combined rate for tuition and the universal student fee to $133 per credit hour. This is the third year in a row the tuition-and-fee rate has held steady at IVCC. The board did agree to increase course specific fees for 60 classes.
Meanwhile, if you're a high school student enrolled in a IVCC course taught by a high school instructor, you'll pay just $30 per course.
High school students enrolled in courses taught by IVCC faculty members will pay 75 percent of the tuition rate, that's about $95 per credit hour.
