Bureau Co. Sheriff (File folder)

When something is terribly wrong; did you feel a cool sweat on the back of your neck? A rural Walnut family may have felt that when a younger member went missing early Saturday.

Bureau County deputies arrived at a residence in the 16000th block of 2500 North around 8:33am.   A three year old boy was missing and it was thought he was in a corn field.

Sheriff James Reed said the residence was thoroughly searched. Several fire departments, a helicopter and five drones came to help. To the relief of everyone, the boy was found at 10:30am,   a mile south of the residence and was in fine shape.

The News Tribune's Kim Shute identified the boy as Pierce Mojden who was visiting the area.
