A potential murder trial involving a La Salle man won’t happen in 2019.
Judge H. Chris Ryan has approved a motion by 23-year-old Kenneth Herbst’s lawyer to bring in a psychiatrist or psychologist to examine the murder defendant. So a December trial date has been tossed out. Herbst is now due back in court for a status hearing on December 27th.
He has pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder. Herbst is accused of holding his baby boy’s face into a pillow, causing the two-month old to die this past March. He’s locked up inside of the La Salle County Jail, needing $200,000 to bond out.
