Two people from Marshall County have died of the coronavirus.
According to Wednesday's report from the Illinois Department of Public Health, a man in his 70s and a woman in her 80s are among 49 more people who've died of the virus across the state. The death toll statewide now is 9,074. More than 327,600 Illinoisans have been stricken since the start of the pandemic. The new positivity rate is 4.6 percent and going the wrong direction.
La Salle County Wednesday announced that COVID-19 has infected 36 more people since Tuesday. New cases range from a girl under 13 to a woman in her 80s. The total number of La Salle County-ans infected with the virus since the pandemic started is 2,054. Thirty-six more people have recovered. Meanwhile, 13 more people have tested positive for the virus in Bureau County, and three more in Marshall County.
