The LP High School Board held its monthly meeting Wednesday night, again this month over Zoom, and covered a lot of ground.
Starting things off was swearing in the board’s newest member. Matt Merboth of Utica had been chosen to serve the remaining term of the late Robert Morrison, who passed away last month.
One topic was commencement – which happens tonight from 4 to 8. As we’ve discussed before, Each student will be allowed two cars with family and friends. At the assigned time, vehicles will enter the complex at the main entrance. Once each student’s cars are in place in front of the stage, the student will get out of the car and walk across the stage. LP is asking you to honk your horns and turn on your front porch lights. And if your lights are red or green, even better.
Superintendent Dr. Steve Wrobleski announced that LP’s Special Ed department has received a perfect score for compliance from the state Board of Education. The board also approved the purchase of two Ford Transit Accessible vans for just under 60 thousand dollars per vehicle.
