The woman allegedly involved in Monday’s manhunt in Streator has been identified and charged.

Fifty-one-year-old Nancy Newell of Streator is jailed on counts of burglary and resisting a peace officer.  She needs $5,000 to bond out.

Newell and 29-year-old Leroy Persinger also of Streator are accused of running from police on at least two occasions Monday morning, leading to about a nine-hour manhunt.  The pair was wanted for their apparent connection to thefts, burglaries and stolen vehicles in Ottawa, Streator and rural La Salle County.

Persinger meanwhile is charged with burglary, felony theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer.  Officers say they found a revolver belonging to Persinger inside a stolen vehicle.  He needs $7,500 to bond out of jail.
