It has now been seven straight months since LaSalle County has seen an increase in the amount of money they’ve collected in sales tax.
According to the latest report, the county took in about $223,000 in October. That was a drop of nearly $26,000 from October of 2015, and the lowest amount the county had received for that month since 2011.
These numbers add up to a troubling trend that is apparent from looking at 2016’s amounts. In 9 of the 10 months with data for last year, the county has seen a decrease in sales tax revenue from the year prior.
So far this year, the county has taken in a little more than $101,000 less than it had in sales tax revenue through the first ten months of 2016.
