From abatements, to holiday celebrations … the LaSalle City Council covered a lot of topics Monday night.

The council voted to pay down several bonds from available funds, without shifting the burden to taxpayers. That’s a tradition the council has carried on for a number of years.

Alderman Joe Jeppson announced that the EPA cleanup work at Northwestern School is substantially complete, and the fences on the property should be coming down in the spring.

The annual Christkindlmarket will be taking place on Second Street on Saturday and Sunday. And Miracle on First Street, complete with special guest Santa Claus, will be next Saturday, December 14th.
