La Salle-Peru High School approved its fiscal year 2021 budget at Wednesday’s school board meeting.

The school will have around a 740,000 dollar deficit against a total revenue of $24.16 million.

While the school will be in the red, Superintendent Dr. Steven Wrobleski told WLPO that he was pleased with the final numbers presented to the board as around 615 thousand dollars of the deficit are one-time planned expenditures.

Wrobleski said quote: “We are knocking on the door of a balanced budget.”

In other business, L-P reported it received over $238,000 in TIF reimbursements – around 83 thousand dollars from a pair of TIF districts in the Village of North Utica and a little over 155 thousand dollars from the city of La Salle.

Also, former assistant wrestling coach Matthew Rebholz was appointed as the Cavaliers’ new head wrestling coach effective for this school year. Rebholz replaces Ed Wrobleski.
