There seems to be some stability with the Oglesby Police Department after bumps in the road earlier this year.
Doug Hayse was sworn in as police chief last night after serving on an interim basis since May. He was unanimously supported by the Oglesby City Council. Hayse law enforcement career includes time as the chief of police in both Minooka and Morris.
His approval comes after the retirement of former chief James Knoblauch. The initial pick to take over after Knoblauch was an officer from Lake Zurich. He changed his mind quickly however saying the job wasn’t right for him, seemingly turned off by dissention in both the police department and city council.
