The reopening of Hobby Lobby in Peru has come to an abrupt end.
The store closed back down Thursday after it became the only Hobby Lobby location to reopen this past Monday. Peru Mayor Scott Harl says someone complained about the store being back open to the Illinois State Police. The state police then reached out to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity who deemed Hobby Lobby non-essential and the store was forced to close. WLPO News reached out to the store Thursday afternoon and the manager, who only gave his first name as Alex, confirmed they closed but gave no other information.
Back in early-April Hobby Lobby made national headlines by defying orders to close. They eventually closed stores and announced furloughs.
