Starved Rock County has two big league ball players to root for this season.

Not surprisingly, St. Bede graduate J.A. Happ is part of the New York Yankees roster.  The lefty is in the team’s starting rotation. Happ is in the final year of a $17 million contract.

Meanwhile Ottawa High School graduate Michael Hermosillo has made the Los Angeles Angels opening day roster.  He will be a backup outfielder. Hermosillo is making the league minimum of $563,000.
