Alcohol allegedly played a role in a car ending up down in a ravine in Peru.
Police and paramedics were called just after 7 Tuesday night to the area of 12th Street and Westclox Avenue for a car that was upside down, 50 to 70 feet into a ravine. The driver, 41-year-old Betina Tonelli of La Salle was pulled out of the car and checked out at Illinois Valley Community Hospital. She’s ticketed for driving under the influence of combination of drugs and alcohol along with improper lane usage. Tonelli was given a court date.
Nobody else was involved in the wreck.
