snow removal

Our latest weather event did not live up to the hype, did it? Here at “Classic Hits 103-9 WLPO, we received 2 ½ inches of snow. A few dry hours were experienced Saturday before snow started falling around 3:45pm here at the station. Share your snow fall totals on the River City Waste Services textline at 223-3093. Utility companies did do some scrambling to restore power on the south end of Ottawa. In Bureau County, about 900 people late Saturday morning had no power. Electricity was restored over the next few hours.

It appeared many took the advice of the media and the weather service and stayed off the roads Saturday evening and early Sunday. You will find roads snow and ice covered across Starved Rock Country. You can check road conditions at getting around Illinois dot com. Take your time. Put your cell phone down. Don't crowd the plow.
