Darlene M. Burke, 91, of Mendota, passed away Tuesday at the Mendota Lutheran Home surrounded by her loving family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 7 in Schwarz Funeral Home.
Darlene was born in Mendota on October 18, 1928 to John J. and Angeline (Metzen) Happ. She married Francis Burke on February 14, 1953 in Peterstown,
She was a homemaker and a member of the H.E.A. Home Extension, the Altar and Rosary Society, and Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
She is survived by two sons – Thomas and Roger Burke, Nancy Brodko, and Janice Nowlin of Mendota; Eileen Twardowski, Diane Spiegel, and Barbara Needs of Peru; Pamela Donoho of Fulton, Illinois; and Beverly Wallery of The Woodlands, Texas. Darlene had 23 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren with one on the way; and one sister, Lucille Stadel of Henry. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Frank, three brothers and five sisters.
