Three new Covid-19 related deaths are being reported in La Salle County this afternoon (Wednesday).
The latest deaths were a man in his 70s, a woman in her 80s and a man in his 90s. There have now been a total of 109 Covid-19 related fatalities in La Salle County.
The La Salle County Health Department also announced 172 new Covid-19 cases today. The new cases range from seven kids under the age of 13 to six men in their 90s. There have been 5,048 total coronavirus cases in La Salle County since the start of the pandemic.
In good news there were 86 recoveries posted as well. That brings the county’s recovery total to 2,760.
STATE: The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) this afternoon (Wednesday) reported more than 89 hundred (8,922) new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, and 140 new confirmed deaths across the state.
The latest numbers bring Illinois to a total of more than 606 thousand cases and more than 11 thousand deaths since the start of the pandemic.
As of last night, nearly 6,000 5,953 in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, more than 11 hundred patients (1,146) were in intensive care units and 547 were on ventilators.
