The La Salle County Health Department Monday afternoon reported 18 more cases of the coronavirus. That brings the total cases to 785 since the pandemic started.
The cases include males from their teens through their 50s, and females from teenager through their 70s.
If there's any good news to be had, it's that La Salle County has reached a good milestone. Five more recoveries are reported, bringing that number to 300 since March.
Meanwhile, the State of Illinois today has more than 1300 more COVID-19 cases since Sunday, and one death. That brings the total of cases in the state to just shy of 195,400 since the start of the pandemic. In that time, the state's also lost more than 76 hundred people to the virus.
The seven-day positivity is still higher than it's been recently, which is not good news, at four-point-one percent.
As of Sunday night, almost 1500 Illinoisans were hospitalized with COVID-19. Almost a quarter of those were in intensive care, and another almost 10 percent were on ventilators.
