The La Salle County Health Department has announced 15 new cases of coronavirus since yesterday (Tuesday). This brings the county total to 442 since the start of the pandemic. The latest patients are a child under 13; men in their 20s, 30s, 50s, and 60s; and women in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s.
Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health today (Wednesday) announced 14 hundred new cases, and 18 more deaths. This elevates the state's totals to more than 175 thousand cases since mid-March, and almost 75 hundred deaths. The statewide positivity for cases is holding at three-point-eight percent. As of last night, nearly 15 hundred Illinoisans were in hospitals with the virus. Of those, 355 were in intensive care, and more than 150 were on ventilators.
