Changing lanes on I-80 proved deadly Sunday for a motorcyclist.
Nathan Carroll of Channahon, State Police say, was driving eastbound I-80 at a high rate of speed, about a mile west of Route 47. While moving back to the right lane, Carroll struck the right rear of a semi driven by 63-year old Robert Segura of Oklahoma. In so doing, the 35-year old Carroll was ejected and died at the scene. State Police are seeking the driver of a third semi, who they say, stopped briefly after the accident, then drove away.
Meanwhile a medical helicopter was requested by paramedics after a motorcycle went down near Seneca. The 9-1-1 call came in at around 7:45 Sunday night for a motorcycle wreck on eastbound Interstate 80 a few miles west of the Seneca exit. The Illinois State Police responded along with Seneca paramedics. You’ll hear more details as they become available.
