A young boy is hospitalized and a dog dead after what’s being called an unprovoked attack in La Salle.
Paramedics and police were called to the 800 block of O’Conor Avenue just after 6 o'clock Monday evening about a dog bite. The initial dispatch report mentioned a boy “bleeding everywhere”. The 11-year-old victim was taken to OSF in Peoria due to severe injuries.
La Salle Police say the pit bull got loose and charged the boy without being provoked. The dog was killed by the owner’s boyfriend. The owner, 32-year-old Tricia Renini was ticketed for allowing a dog to run at large and failure to get city tags.
