Bond has been set for a man accused of shooting at a house in Peru.
Thirty-four-year old Semaj Jones of Spring Valley needs $15,000 to get out of the La Salle County Jail. He’s charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm. Jones was told of those charges in front of a judge on Wednesday.
Jones was arrested late Monday night for allegedly shooting at a house in the 2100 block of Market Street in Peru. Investigators say when Jones fired shots there were several people in the home including children. One person who told police he fled the scene was later checked out at Illinois Valley Community Hospital.
Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei labeled the motive as a “domestic related shooting.”
