Are you into snakes?  A man from Mendota has apparently taken his liking of the reptiles to an illegal level.

Conservation Police Sgt. Phil Wire says his office is working on charges for taking snakes from state land like canals and parks and then either selling them for profit or breeding them.  Wire says it’s been going on for a couple of years but last week an advertisement for snakes was seen by investigators.

The snake seller’s name hasn’t been released yet.  Wire says the snakes being taken are all non-venomous and can be sold from $12 to $200.
