A couple of suspected shoplifters -- one a novice and the other a repeat offender -- are in the LaSalle County Jail with very different bail amounts.
Eighteen-year-olds Kyle Quintana and John Bice, both of the same address in Peru, are accused of committing felony retail theft from Peru Hy-Vee. They also allegedly set off the emergency exit during the incident.
Bice appears to be a first-time offender and he needs 200 dollars to bond out.
Quintana, though, is another story. Among other things, Just last month, he pleaded guilty of stealing three bikes in Peru in June, as we reported. In exchange for his guilty plea last month, he was put on second-chance probation. Since the alleged Hy-Vee theft last week, a petition to revoke his probation has been filed. Quintana needs 2 thousand dollars to bond out.
