An SUV-versus-motorcycle accident near Princeton left the rider dead last Tuesday night.
Witnesses told first responders that the motorcycle had been following a car eastbound in the area of Lover’s Lane Road. When the biker made a move to pass the car, he crashed head-on into an SUV traveling in the opposite direction. Sheriff James Reed says the 30-year-old rider was taken to Perry Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name is being withheld until next-of-kin are notified.
The accident remains under investigation by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department and the Bureau County Coroner’s Office.
Sheriff Reed noted that Princeton Fire and EMS also responded to the scene.
