One of the Illinois Valley’s most famous sons will be celebrated this weekend.
The La Salle County Historical Society is putting on “Wild Bill Days” this Saturday and Sunday on their museum grounds in Utica. Both afternoons there will be Wild West re-enactments along with a vendor show and a special exhibit on loan from Deadwood, South Dakota, the place where Wild Bill was killed.
Saturday night will feature a performance called “Wild Bill! An Evening with James Butler Hickok” while Sunday night the festival wraps up with live music and drinks. Saturday night’s play features former soap star Walt Willey.
