The Bureau County Historical Society has an interesting and informative way to keep cool this weekend: A free Victorian ice-cream party.
From 2 to 4 on Saturday at the Newell Bryant House in Princeton, you can enjoy ice cream and punch, with Victorian musical instruments, kids’ toys and games, and fun for the whole family. Want to taste the past? You’ll also have the chance to try cucumber ice cream, a Victorian favorite. The society will be offering tours of the Newell Bryant House and the Clark Norris House, too.
Call 875-2184 with any questions ahead of Saturday afternoon’s event.
