If they make it to trial, two suspended deputy auditors in La Salle County will likely be tried separately.
Forty-five-year-old Tori Artman of Mendota and 54-year-old Pamela Wright of Ottawa have been given different jury trial dates. Both were in an Ottawa courtroom Monday morning for a motions hearing. The women agreed to drop a motion to ask for a special prosecutor. La Salle County Assistant State’s Attorney George Mueller is handling the case.
Artman and Wright were arrested in September for allegedly claiming more than a thousand dollars in overtime pay that wasn’t actually earned while working as deputy county auditors. The theft and official misconduct supposedly happened in October of 2016.
Just last week the La Salle County Board voted to suspend Artman and Wright for 30 days without pay and benefits.
