Soon, you won’t have to worry about falling into the ravine along Route 251 south of Shooting Park Road in Peru.
The infamous slope that has long been barricaded off on northbound Route 251 will be replaced this spring and summer. Work that will include a retaining wall, rebuilt shoulder and a re-graded slope is expected to start next week and last into August. During construction northbound Route 251 between the 7th Street overpass and Shooting Park Road will be down to one lane.
Just the very top of the new retaining wall will be visible from Route 251.
